Awards

July 2024

Violet Paque from Topsham got a grant to help her buy a Tuba. "I love all the bands I'm in. I just love music!" Her goals are to play all instruments in her lifetime and hopefully play in the Portland Symphony Orchestra.

​Jackson Giumarro from Freeport received a scholarship toward a new amp. He is in the band Cosmic Turtle pictured on left. They can be found on Spotify. He plays percussion, bass, guitar, keyboard and vocals.

The Block Grant program with Brunswick High School

over the '23-24 school year has been very successful:

4 students were able to take vocal training

10 students were able to have instrumental training 

We are so pleased we can aid these students in pursuing their musical interests!!

We are hoping to expand our block grant program to Brunswick Junior high and eventually Mt Ararat and Morse,

Bently Miliano, 9 years old, received a grant for music instruction.

I have watched my grandson gain a confidence I truly never thought I would see.....He is a completely different child when he sits at the keyboard.

Frida Wright from Bath was awarded a scholarship to continue her Violin lessons

Joseph Vela now has money for a new trombone. We cannot thank you enough for the award, Joseph is loving his new trombone!

Phoebe Benham also has funds for a new trumpet!

David Afonso Nzuzi, from Brunswick was awarded scholarship money towards recording his original music.

"Dear Ms. Swanson, thank you so much for the opportunity. I appreciate your help. I've been craving to go to the studio, but I couldn't because I didn't have the money to afford it. But now, because of your generosity, I can make it happen. Thank you and the whole foundation for this gift. You guys made my day."

April 2023

Rachel Eaton, from Topsham, was awarded Scholarship Money towards vocal and opera lessons at SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music. She hopes to pursue a musical career as a singer, performer, director or teacher. Good luck Rachel from LSMFY Foundation!

Jaden Nicita, from Brunswick was awarded a scholarship to attend the summer courses for theater/music at Berklee. This is what he has to say about it....

"Thank you so much to the LSMFY Fund! Their scholarship made it possible for me to study this summer at Boston Conservatory with some of the industry's best and most incredible Broadway alumni. I learned so much about my craft that has charged me with confidence as I head into college auditions. Because of this scholarship, I am equipped with the tools and courage to pursue my dream as a performer. I hope more young people will apply to reap the benefits of such a generous scholarship!"

Brunswick High School Music Boosters with the help of Brandon Duras, band director, was given a block grant to award to band members that show potential or could benefit from financial assistance for lessons.

Molly Greenleaf received support to participate in the 2022 All National Honors Ensemble Concert Band event  in Washington, DC. She plays the baritone saxophone. Good luck to her and have a safe trip!
